Recreational reading as a pedagogical strategy to strengthen reading comprehension in second grade children is based on the qualitative approach from participatory action research (IAP). The results arise through an intervention process where teachers and students are actively involved in research and reflection on their reading and comprehension practices, encouraging the participation of children as co-researchers in their own learning process. In conclusion, it seeks to know the relationship that exists between the recreational reading strategy to strengthen reading comprehension, because through recreational reading, a playful and pleasant environment is fostered that stimulates students' interest in reading and It allows the development of comprehension skills in an active and significant way.
This investigative perspective implies working on the initial diagnosis of students' reading comprehension skills, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Recreational reading activities and strategies are then designed to fit the children's interests and needs, and implemented systematically. During the process, qualitative and quantitative data on student progress is collected, such as observation logs, analysis of written productions, and interviews. These data are continuously analyzed and fed back, which makes it possible to adjust pedagogical interventions and assess the impact of recreational reading on improving reading comprehension.
