ICTs during the COVID19 epidemic were a fundamental tool in the teaching-learning process for students in the country, since they brought the entire educational community closer from home, facing new challenges for education. As a result, it becomes important to understand the experiences of the use of ICT in the teaching-learning process in students from 7 to 8 years of age during the 2020 pandemic, in an educational institution in the department of Guaviare. Through a qualitative research of a phenomenological type, where ten students and ten parents are taken as a sample population, applying an in-depth interview to them, giving as results that the experiences regarding the use of technology were not significant due to many factors that limited to fully develop academic activities such as lack of connectivity, access to devices and management of digital applications. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of information and communication technologies in times of confinement in said population were not relevant, since it left many gaps in the knowledge of the students, evidencing the great digital gap that still exists in the rural areas of the country.
