The incidence of adverse effects after vaccination in Colombia, from January to December 2021
Synopsis
A post-vaccination adverse event (PVAE) is any unintentional or unfavorable sign, symptom/disease, or abnormal laboratory finding following vaccination; These reactions do not necessarily have a causal relationship with the biological, but may be connected with the medical indication. The objective of this work is to describe the incidence of AEVID in Colombia, during the year 2021, through a descriptive, cross-sectional study, in which a database obtained from the National Institute of Health, the entity that coordinates SIVIGILA in the country, is analyzed. , which is notified of events of importance to the public health of the nation.
EAPV must be identified and communicated in an immediate, timely and transparent manner to maintain people's confidence in vaccination programs, so describing their incidence and the behavior of variables related to this will allow the generation of relevant strategies or interventions to reduce or mitigate the occurrence of these events.
