Depression, Mining woman, DesignSynopsis
With the insertion of women into the workplace, their roles were doubled, since many of them, in addition to fulfilling work responsibilities, must also fulfill their own household chores, such as caring for their husbands and raising and educating their children. This duplication of roles can make them more vulnerable to depression and, in some cases, lead to low self-esteem.
Therefore, the main objective of this project is to design strategies to promote and prevent depression in women between 20 and 45 years of age, in a mining complex in La Guajira, Colombia. For this, it is necessary to know the sociocultural factors that influence the development of depression, recognize the main effects that depression can cause in the work performance of this union of women and define strategies to prevent depression in women who work in a mining complex. We will work with a sample of 20 women, with whom a descriptive investigation will be used, with a qualitative transectional design, the sociodemographic survey and the interviews for the collection of information.
Currently, this open-pit mining complex is the only operating mining company in the country with a female president and its Steering Committee is made up of more than 1,160, also taking into account its female contractors. Consequently, these women are exposed to many complexes going through high degrees of depression that in turn can affect their work environment.
