Synopsis
It is important to conduct a research on school dropout because there is often evidence of adolescents who stop their academic process thinking that it is the most assertive decision or the solution to their problems, depending on the situation they are going through, without understanding that going through the academy is important, not only for the source of knowledge it provides but also because it prepares the individual to face life in an optimal and productive integral way, Potentiating soft skills, emotional intelligence, problem solving, conflict resolution and healthy coexistence among others, which provide the basis for the individual to develop competently, adding to this the assistance provided by the interdisciplinary team of the institutions and the collaborative work with families.
For this reason, this research aims to provide current information on the reasons that lead adolescents of the educational institution of Villamaría Caldas to drop out of the school process, in order to contribute to the development of new pedagogical strategies that the institution wishes to design, and thus provide a solution to school dropout, achieving that in turn the other affectations that are intrinsic to the initial problem are addressed in a timely manner.
