Adolescence is a stage of great risk for individuals when they don’t find themselves in an environment in which to develop important protective factors that allow them to shape a good self-esteem, a healthy personality and to establish good social relationships; thus not-preventing stressful situations and risky behaviors that hinder their lives. The main objective of this research is to investigate and understand the experiences of service providers regarding the mental health of adolescents in public entities of a municipality in Cundinamarca - Colombia. A comprehensive interpretative phenomenological study was carried out through a qualitative approach, with a sample of 10 officials from public entities. Discussion: This study indicates specific aspects of risk situations in family, social and educational context for adolescents that are directly associated with the development of poor mental health, as well as a shortage in specialized personnel and care infrastructure. Conclusion: There is a lack of organization and communication among entities regarding the routes to follow for care and advances in mental health, creation, and socialization of a public policy at the regional level.
