Impacto de la violencia intrafamiliar en niños, niñas entre 6 y 12 años de una institución de la ciudad de Medellín: Resolución de conflictos en familias con niños entre 6 y 12 años y constructos alrededor de las prácticas violentas

Children and adolescents are a population vulnerable to violent situations in their family environments,
which affect their optimal development and are manifested in their behaviors; we sought to recognize the
main signs of domestic violence in the contexts of children between 6 and 12 years of age and their family
contexts. A survey with open-ended questions was applied in order to obtain specific information on
general concepts about violence and violent socialization behaviors; in addition, a self-assessment interview
on conflicts between siblings was adapted in order to identify conflict management within families; The
evidence collected indicates that despite the existence of multiple sources of support and teaching tools for
the management of intra-family conflicts, there is still a long way to go to make families aware of the
importance of learning to coexist and solve problems adaptively; however, we have evidenced a tendency
to dialogue as the main source or resource when solving family problems.
