Research trends in Phonoaudiologya
Synopsis
Research is the element that allows professions and disciplines to sustain their object of study and guarantee recognition, positioning, and empowerment of their members. Research is a process that usually originates in the academy, although it transcends beyond it, it allows students, teachers, professionals, and unions to build history and update their scientific and curricular lines.
Speech therapy as a profession in Colombia, according to Lizarazo-Camacho & Fique Ortega, (2013) has managed to position itself in a traditional way in some settings, and incipiently in others, during that history, the academy has been the protagonist of the research. Mainly because academic institutions and professional programs consider it as a substantive and transversal process in the training of speech therapists. However, the methodologies, approaches, and investigative criteria are unclear.
